In 1913 the steamer tugboat was built in the Euskalduna shipyard in Bilbao by Sota and Aznar Company. During the Spanish Civil War in March 1937 the tugboat participated in the Battle of Cape Matxitxako. A tugboat is marine vessel that will push or pull other vessels by direct contact or a tow line. Many of these tugs are still in service in small ports in the Mediterranean.
