About the Glad Tidings Pinky Schooner
The Glad Tidings is based on the Pinky Schooners that originated in 16th Century Europe. They were known for being sturdy and seaworthy, ruling the New England fishing industry from 1815 to 1840.
This particular kit is based on actual drawings by Howard Irving Chapelle, who built a typical Pinky schooner. Calling it Glad Tidings, it was a two-masted schooner launched in 1937.
