The Pauline was built and designed by Roy Wallace at the Newbert & Wallace Yard in Thomaston, Maine. She was built as an 83-foot sardine carrier in 1948. The Pauline was the most beautiful, sturdy and well-kept carrier on the coast, the icon of her day of sardine fisheries. She was refitted in 1988 as a passenger vessel motor yacht touring the Maine waters for the next 25 years.
