Description
Built in 1906, the Alexander von Humboldt, a German sailing ship, operated throughout the North and Baltic Seas until being retired in 1986. After which, she was converted into a three masted barque by the German shipyard Motorwerke Bremerhaven and was re-launched in 1988 as Alexander von Humboldt. Eventually taken off sail-training and sent to the Caribbean for the charter business, then converted to a botel. Alexander Von Humboldt is currently stationed in Bremen, Germany.
Using historical photographs, drawings or original plans our model is meticulously handcraft with highly quality wood from scratch to the most accurate of detail. They are built to scale and are 100% hand built, individually using plank-on-frame construction method and are similar to the building of actual ships.
