Princess Cruises Unveils Major Renovations to Fan-Favorite Crown Princess

Princess Cruises has officially welcomed Crown Princess back into service following an extensive drydock in Singapore—and longtime fans have plenty to be excited about. Just in time for its upcoming Australia season and highly anticipated World Cruise, the beloved ship has returned with refreshed spaces, new venues, and a revitalized onboard atmosphere.

A Fresh Look with Elevated Guest Experiences

Princess Cruises views every drydock as a chance to enhance life at sea, and the latest upgrades to Crown Princess reflect that commitment. The ship now blends its classic Princess charm with modern touches designed to improve comfort, entertainment, and social spaces throughout the vessel.

Among the most notable additions is O’Malley’s Irish Pub, making its debut aboard Crown Princess. Replacing the former Wheelhouse Bar, the pub delivers a warm, relaxed Irish ambiance where guests can enjoy comfort food favorites like burgers and fish and chips, beer and whiskey flights, and nightly live acoustic music. With seating for more than 130 guests, it’s designed to be lively yet welcoming—perfect for winding down after a day ashore.

A Reimagined Casino and Elevated Shopping

Another standout renovation can be found in Gatsby’s Casino, which has been fully redesigned with a brighter layout, upgraded slot machines, improved table games, and a refreshed casino bar. Whether guests are seasoned players or simply testing their luck, the updated space encourages longer, more enjoyable visits.

Retail and lounge experiences also received a premium upgrade with the introduction of the EFFY Lounge and Vault. Showcasing high-end jewelry from the New York–based brand, this elegant space replaces the former internet café and adds a more refined shopping experience onboard.

Modern Comfort Without Losing Its Classic Appeal

Beyond the headline upgrades, Crown Princess underwent general refurbishments across key public areas, subtly modernizing the ship while preserving the traditional Princess Cruises atmosphere that loyal guests appreciate.

As part of the Grand Class fleet, Crown Princess has long been favored for its slightly smaller size, calmer onboard environment, and itineraries that emphasize scenic destinations over high-energy party scenes. With fewer passengers than newer megaships, the vessel offers a more relaxed and spacious cruising experience—especially appealing to adults and travelers seeking tranquility.

Perfectly Positioned for Scenic Voyages

Crown Princess’ size also allows access to ports that larger ships can’t reach, including breathtaking destinations like Glacier Bay, making it a popular choice for itinerary-focused travelers.

Now en route to Sydney, the ship will begin its Australia season in January 2026, followed by a remarkable 114-day World Cruise departing roundtrip from Sydney in May.

First launched in 2006 and famously christened by Martha Stewart, Crown Princess proves that with thoughtful updates and modern enhancements, a well-loved ship can continue to surprise and delight guests—nearly two decades later.
