Description
Maersk Line Limited and operated by Waterman Steamship Corporation, the MV Maersk Alabama (formerly Alva Maersk) is a container ship. She has a light-blue hull and a beige superstructure like all Maersk vessels, regardless of their flag of registry. The story of the incident was reported in the 2010 book A Captain’s Duty: Somali Pirates, Navy SEALs, and Dangerous Days at Sea by Stephan Talty and Captain Richard Phillips, who had been master of the vessel at the time of the incident. The hijacking also inspired the 2013 film Captain Phillips.
Our MV Maersk Alabama model is handcraft by our skilful artisans and accurately detailed having used photographs, drawings and original plan. Built to scale from the finest materials to the highest standard. Meticulously handcrafted from the plank on frame method of construction to the first class finish to make this a true replica of the original vessel.
