Algocanada’s boat
Algoma Central Marine, a subsidiary of Algoma Central Corp., operates a fleet of self-unloading vessels on the Great Lakes. In 2000, Upper Lakes Shipping Ltd. and Algoma Central have created a partnership to coordinate the transportation of goods along the St. Lawrence Seaway. The company subsequently reverted to Algoma Central Marine after a takeover. The whole fleet has been renamed. The company has started the construction of a series of new bulk carriers. They will be named after the main ship, the Algoma Equinox. The redesigned fleet incorporated technical and technological improvements aimed at reducing fuel consumption. But also, to create a safer workplace and to reduce emissions and other environmental impacts.
The Algocanada model
The Algocanada model is 86 cm long, 24 cm wide and 32 cm high. All unloader model materials used in construction are selected and prepared with seasoned hardwoods with polished metal fittings. All prefabricated models are ready for display and are supplied with a wooden plinth and brass nameplate. This model of Algocanada is the result of extensive research and meticulous planning. Each of the Algocanada models are built by our experienced craftsmen using the traditional construction technique, plank on frame and require several hundred hours of work. You can display your model in a window so that your model can be protected from dust and the vagaries of time.
