FD10 yawl kit is one of our models from the Billing Boats range, characteristic for making high quality ship model kits. This FD10 yawl ship model represents the quality of ship model making of Billing Boats. Billing Boats have a very long tradition of model making, established in 1958. One of the main features of this model kit is the plank on frame construction, keel and frame components made from laser cut plywood, wooden superstructure and decks, wooden hull and deck fittings, plastic or brass detailed ornaments and many more details. The kit can be built according to clear instructions and full size plans.
The original FD10 ship was built in the 1930´s in Faroe Islands for purposes of becoming a fishing yawl. Even if the ship was built in Faroe Islands and was popular in that area, it is actually English. England sold this type of vessels not only to Faroese but also to Norwegians and to fishermen in West Jutland. The FD10 yawl is equipped with an English cutter rigging. The ship is made from lime wood and elm which are considered to be very strong materials.
